Microsoft's Strategy with Silvelight

Through Silverlight we can see that Microsoft has loosen its "everything Microsoft" strategy a bit. They actually Silverlight on Mac OS X, and Firefox (even Microsoft dare not disrespect Firefox users now). If you are a pure Windows guy, you should be pretty happy with that and embrace Silverlight. However, to Linux users, this is pure discrimination. The more successful Silverlight is, the worse Linux users will feel. Though there is a open source team working on the Mono version of WPF/E (Silverlight's old name), the result remains unclear.

In my opinion, Silverlight might steal a big slice of pie from Adobe. Really bad news for Linux users, if that happens.
Silverlight might also not be that successful, the reason being Linux users won't be happy about that. Companies that respect their users, they are unlikely to employ a technology with compatibility problem. Good news for Adobe, if that's the case.
