AOL finally decided to cease all support for its browser Netscape. This is not unsurprising, though may still break some hearts. I have never personally be a user of Netscape, but I respect this pioneer of all browsers. I see this as a obituary for Netscape, but this doesn't mean the extinction of its family. Mozilla's initial code base was from Netscape when Microsoft won the browser war back in 90s. Then Firefox took a step further from Mozilla, so technically Firefox is the grand child of Netscape.
Rest in peace, Netscape. May the spirit goes on forever.
