Officially an iPhone 3G Owner

I queued up for over 2 hours on the launch day, and finally had the phone in my hands.
After a week of usage, I give it four and half a star.
  1. Interface rocks with cool animations and shiny icons, indeed a phone with style (the Samsung Omnia will become the iPhone killee because of this)
  2. App store is awsome, quite a number of good free apps, no paid ones yet bought yet, so no comment
  3. Touch screen is sensitive and easy to operate on
  4. Accelerometer surprisingly sensitive and accurate (if software done properly)
  5. GPS working ok, managed to get street level accuracy
  6. 3G speed acceptable
  7. Camera resolution a bit low at 2MP, no video taking
  8. Freeze quite often, especially when syncing
  9. Battery life is short, charging daily to be safe

iPhone, iPod Touch and App Store

Big news thunders - iPhone will soon be made available in Singapore by Singtel. I can't wait to lay my hands on that shiny new iPhone 3G.
Luckier even, I just had a chance to play with iPod Touch before I send to someone else as a gift. The first thing I did with this iPod was upgrading to 2.0 firmware. The second thing is of course jump into the App Store and search for free Apps like crazy.
Games are my primary interest for the time being. The bad news is that there are not many quality games for free. The good news is that the market hasn't been spoiled yet, there is still room for paid games.
So get the Xcode loaded and let's code!
